Aanart, the founder of SourcetoMCP, wanted to know when people talked about his product, its competitors, or MCP tools in general. He needed a way to find those posts and follow up with the people writing them.
On 1 September 2026, he started using Mentionkit for social listening, tracking his brand, competitor names, and industry terms. More than two months later, he reports consistenly getting 2–3 leads a week directly from that outreach.
Why Aanart wanted simpler social listening
SourcetoMCP connects marketing and analytics accounts to AI agents through a hosted MCP server. It lets AI tools use data and actions from other services.
For instance, someone can ask Claude or ChatGPT about their Google Ads campaign performance or Search Console data. SourcetoMCP’s docs inform users how they can connect this data to their chat app.

Aanart wanted to keep up with posts about his business and other MCP products. He found existing social listening tools cumbersome and expensive for what he needed. They also came with features he had little use for.
He wanted a social monitoring tool he could use to find relevant posts and reply.
What Aanart tracks and how he follows up
Aanart’s Mentionkit setup covers three groups of keywords:
- His own brand. SourcetoMCP mentions help him find posts about the product itself. Very little usage because its a growing brand but will get useful later.
- Competitor names. These bring in posts about other tools serving similar needs. Great for winning customers who are using existing tools.
- Industry terms. Phrases such as
mcp serverandgmail mcphelp him find posts beyond named products. This is how he gets most of his users right now.
Mentionkit collects matching posts and uses AI filtering to put actionable mentions first. Aanart can then read the original post and decide whether SourcetoMCP fits what the person needs.

When he finds a relevant post, he joins the discussion and mentions his product. He also sends direct messages to people he finds through monitoring. He’s continued doing this since September.
Here’s Aanart replying to a Reddit post he found through Mentionkit. His comment mentions SourcetoMCP alongside another MCP tool.

If you’re doing similar outreach, I recommend answering the person’s question and explaining how your product helps with that specific problem. Make your connection to the product clear and explain how your product benefits the person.

Two months in, outreach brings 2–3 leads a week
As of 2 November 2026, Aanart reports getting 2–3 leads per week directly from this outreach. He finds a relevant post through Mentionkit, then follows up publicly or through a direct message.
He also hopes that mentioning SourcetoMCP in public posts will help AI tools refer to the product in future answers. He hasn’t reported an increase in AI referrals yet.
Try this with your own product
I’d start with your brand, a few competitor names, and terms people use when looking for a product like yours. Review the posts those keywords find before adding more. If a term keeps bringing in unrelated posts, change it or remove it.
You can use our competitor monitoring guide to choose your first keywords, then set them up in Mentionkit. Keep links to the posts you reply to so you can see which outreach brings people to your product.
