Mentionkit vs Syften
Mentionkit and Syften both help you find leads across socials.
However Mentionkit is much better in almost every aspect. Learn how it beats Syften.
Let's be honest..
Mentionkit is a very competitive alternative to Syften. Learn how it beats the competition.
Setup
With Mentionkit, you enter your landing page, and we’ll give you a list of recommended keywords, suggested subreddits you should lurk on. This setup will also score mentions based on how relevant they are to your business/product.
Syften has no such thing as far as I have tested. You need to have a good understanding of social listening and what keywords you want to monitor.
UI
Syften has a clunky filter system you need to learn before you can start listening to mentions. This might be because it was built in the days before AI where you needed to add various stop words and boolean filters.
With Mentionkit, there’s a nice UI to add keywords. And the main kicker is that you can freely add a wide keyword like “cereal” and it will run AI against your project details and give you relevant mentions. No need to add stop words and all that nonsense.
Pricing
While they both start at similar price points(Syften’s base plan is $19.95 per month and Mentionkit’s base plan is $20 per month), you get only 3 keywords with Syften.
This is very limiting for starting out. Even worse is the absurd 100 results per day limit - which makes no sense at all. Its just too limiting.
And there’s no reporting, etc. Search is only preserved for 7 days.
A better comparision is Syften’s Standard plan(starts at $39.95 per month) to Mentionkit’s base plan. This is where Syften adds AI filtering(somewhat similar to Mentionkit’s AI relevance score)
But again, the search results are limited to 200 per day, no reporting etcetc.
Syften is a really really bad choice overall if you’re looking for the most bang-for-your buck.
Platform support
This is where Syften is ahead. They support a lot more platforms, especially developer oriented ones like Stackflow, Github, etc.
We support a lot less platforms, but are slowly catching up.
Notably Syften doesn't support Linkedin while we do.
API
Let’s be honest, everyone and their mom is using ChatGPT, Claude, etc for marketing.
At Mentionkit we know how important this is and that’s why we baked API for all plans. MCP support is on the way.
Syften simply doesn’t have a API integration. They have webhooks though - but on the highest PRO plan only(starts at $99.95 per month).
You get all that on Mentionkit from the base plan!
Conclusion
I believe we’re a very competitive alternative to Syften. Significant better pricing, API support from the base plan and a very intuitive setup makes us heaps better than Syften.
| Feature | Mentionkit | Syften | What this means |

| AI relevance | Mentionkit includes relevance scoring for all plans. Syften adds comparable filtering on higher tiers. | ||
| API access | Mentionkit includes API access on all plans. Syften does not have a API. | ||

| Broader overall platform coverage | Syften covers more sources overall, especially developer-oriented channels. | ||
| Base plan starting price | $20/mo | $19.95/mo | Entry pricing is close, so limits and included features matter more than sticker price. |
| Keyword limit on entry plan | 10 | 3 | Syften entry keyword count is limited. |
| Results cap | 5000/month | 100/day | Syften entry has a hard daily cap that can block monitoring workflows. |
| Archive window on entry plan | No hard cap | 7 days | Short archive windows make historical comparison and reporting harder. |
